Lev Vygotsky’s Educational Philosphy • Emphasizes the importance of looking at each child as an individual, with different learning capabilities and needs. • Accentuates the role of culture in what students learn, and how students learn. • Places great emphasis on the role of language in learning and human development in general • Believed one of the main goals of preschool education should be to ease children from drawing to writing. • Believed that learning occurs when new experience builds on old knowledge and experience. • Emphasizes challenging students and stretching their abilities
