  3. Les pronomssujets A subject pronoun replaces a noun and is used with verbs to let us know who the speaker is. In French the subject pronouns are: Nous – we Vous – you (formal/plural) Ils – they (m/m&f) Elles – they (f) Je – I Tu – you (sing. & familiar) Il – he/it Elle – she/it On – one/we

  4. Each subject pronoun uses its own verb ending. This is particularly helpful for regular verbs! • Les verbesréguliers • A regular verb has the same stem throughout the verb. There are three groups of regular verbs: • -er • -ir • -re

  5. All regular verbs that end in -erfollow the same pattern. The same is true for regular -irand -re verbs. -er verbs Je -e Tu -es Il/elle/on -e Nous -ons Vous -ez Ils/elles -ent Regarder Complétez le verbe. An irregular verb is a verb whose stem changes or whose endings do not follow the same pattern as regular verb endings. Do you know the following irregular verbs?
