  1. 5 Signs of Infection after 5 Signs of Infection after ROOT CANAL ROOT CANAL

  2. Severe Pain That Doesn’t Go Away It’s normal to feel some pain or discomfort for a few days after a root canal. However, if the pain is getting worse instead of better, or if it stays sharp and intense even after taking painkillers, it might mean the infection wasn’t fully removed or has returned.

  3. Swelling Around the Tooth or Face Some swelling is expected right after the procedure, but if you notice the swelling increasing around your gums, cheek, or jaw after a few days, it could be a sign of infection. Swelling that comes with redness or warmth around the area is especially concerning.

  4. Bad Taste in the Mouth or Pus Discharge If you experience a constant bad taste in your mouth or notice pus coming out from around the treated tooth, it usually means there’s an abscess (a pocket of infection). This is a clear sign that bacteria are still active in the area.

  5. Fever or Feeling Tired and Unwell A fever is your body’s way of fighting an infection. If you have a high temperature, chills, or feel weak and tired for no clear reason after your root canal, it could mean the infection is spreading to other parts of your body and needs urgent attention.

  6. Loose or Becomes Sensitive Again After a successful root canal, your tooth should start feeling better. If instead, it feels wobbly, painful to chew on, or sensitive to pressure again after a few days, this may mean the healing process is not going well, possibly due to infection.
