  3. Motorcycle Trauma “Best Practice” A group of interested individuals met in Dec. 2008 to discuss development of a “Best Practice” model for surviving motorcycle trauma. The following 4 groups were identified • Motorcycle Rider Coaches should receive ASMI training along with CPR • Motorcycle groups should be encouraged to be trained in ASMI skills • 911 Dispatch (EMD) should include motorcycle specific trauma recommendations • EMTs should be required to complete a module on motorcycle trauma care

  4. Road Guardian Program Objective To reduce injuries and fatalities to motorcyclists. RG will be the national standard for Motorcyclist Certification for by Promoting “educated, responsible riding”.

  5. How does it work? Currently, if you search for motorcycle safety online you will get over 17 million hits. The RG website will Provide a one-stop community on the web for learning ways to improve riding skills, links to safety education and services. We have created a national branded program designation among motorcyclists that will provide recognition and incentives to those who are properly trained, properly licensed. We encourage motorcyclists to be “lifelong learners” by providing resources and opportunity as well.

Road Guardian Membership Levels • There are three (3) categories of Road Guardian (RG) designation: • A.Certified Road Guardian • Completed Basic and Advanced ASMI courses • Motorcycle Rider Education course • CPR certified • B. Road Guardian • Completed Basic ASMI course • Motorcycle rider license endorsement • C. Associate Road Guardian • Completed Basic ASMI course

Road Guardians Launch – January 7, 2010 • Sponsors on web site and sponsor promotion • Facebook, Twitter, Ning, YouTube viral marketing • Email and direct mail campaign • RG’s promoted at ASMI and motorcycle safety group classes • Spring articles in National & Local magazines and e-zines • Road Guardian events announced • Annual Motorcycle Safety Conferences: First one Fri/Sat. March 26-27, 2010 at the DoubleTree in Chicago near O-Hare.

Information will be sent to 150 motorcycle media sources.
