  1. Australia Relief, location and climate of Australia

  2. Location of Australia • Its area lies on the southern hemisphere.  • Includes mainland Australia, Tasmania Island and small islands around the mainland.  • Australia is surrounded by the Pacific and the Indian Ocean . • The capital city of Australia is Canberra.

  3. Climate • The continent is  influenced by two types of climate: tropical and subtropical climate. • South and southwest of the country are located in the area of  westerly winds and are exposed to rainfall.

  4. Relief • Australia is the continent at the lowest altitude.  • The entire interior of Australia is very smooth and it is called Death Heart. • Australian coast is slightly indented  • The highest peak is Mount Kosciusko-2400 m.
