Meeting on Testing New TEM/TEM-PS Version and Data Collection Coordination

A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 08:30 to discuss whether the new version of TEM/TEM-PS should be tested on the EM system as early as Tuesday. Data collection has been ongoing for 12 hours a day since the integration of the EM system last Thursday. Key agenda items include reviewing testing metrics such as TKR trigger rates, optimization checks, and analyzing graphical data to prepare for tomorrow's meeting. Shift assignments for data collection will be proposed and are essential for smooth operations until October 12.

  1. 08:00 Meeting Schedule • Meeting 08:30 Tuesday morning to determine if new version TEM/TEM-PS should be tested on EM system (as early as Tuesday) • Testing/Data Taking performed 12-hrs/day since EM system integration on Thursday • Shifts summary:

  2. EM System Optimization Checks Rates summary: TKR trigger only – 10 Hz CAL trigger only – 30 Hz TKR or CAL trigger – 35 Hz External trigger – 3 Hz Nominal Configuration: TKR or CAL trigger Non zero-suppressed FITS data output TOT disabled TKR Threshold = 30 CAL LE Gain = 5 CAL HE Gain = 13 TKR delay = 0 CAL delay = 70 External Trigger: TKR delay = 35 CAL delay = 80

  3. Benchmarks for TEM/TEM-PS test • TKR: Occupancy vs strip (6 graphs, 1 per layer) • TKR: Gain vs strip (6 graphs, 1 per layer) • TKR: Noise vs strip (6 graphs, 1 per layer) • CAL: Pedestal vs CDE end (4 graphs, 1 per range) • CAL: Noise vs CDE end (4 graphs, 1 per range) Review these graphs at 4:00pm meeting today in preparation for 8:30am meeting tomorrow morning. Today’s activities will be preparation of these graphs; otherwise, take more data with external trigger, and find optimum CAL delay for TKR trigger only, i.e. CAL slow shaper is 3.7 microsec time-to-peak, then subtract TKR time-to-trigger (2.0 microsec).

  4. Shift Schedule Until End of Data Taking • Two shift workers is necessary and adequate • Need to assign shifts until October 12 • Shift schedule proposal to be presented today at 4:00pm meeting
