  1. FEDERAL CAPITAL PLANNING & INVESTMENT FORUM Presents The Reimagined Annual CPIC Conference: Federal IT Governance Summit www.cpicconference.com www.cpicforum.org www.artifactacademy.com www.fedgovsummit.org

  2. Our CPIC beginnings.

  3. Why has the CPIC Conference been Successful? • It is the only conference of it’s kind in the world. • No other conference specializes in niche, continuing education and professional development of Capital Planners, with an emphasis on Information Technology, governance, Enterprise Architecture, Finance, Budget and Portfolio/ Program/ Project Management • Corporations may only participate as sponsors and speaking engagements strictly prohibit “sales and marketing” pitches. • 98% of all speakers are federal, senior, high-level subject matter experts, executives and/ or representatives of the Executive branch. • Being a strictly educational event, Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) of up to 12 units may be earned • No press passes are offered for CPIC Forum content so that we maintain the trust of our partners, colleagues and leaders when appropriate.

  4. Who Attends? • Federal Executives such as Chief Information Officers • Private Sector Portfolio Managers seeking standards, best practices and tools to bring over from the Federal sector. • Project, Program and Portfolio Managers • Investment Managers • Analysts in multiple disciplines • Students • Candidates-to-Analysts Initiative (C2AI) Program Participants • Certified Capital Planning Professionals (CPP) and Instructors (CPP-I) or those working towards achieving certification • Contractors supporting these activities for Federal Agency Clients • Federal Employees who are practitioners in some aspect(s) of CPIC • Companies seeking to network and/ or recruit from this small community of niche professionals. • Companies seeking to bid CPIC work and/ or develop teaming arrangements or determine competitive landscape. • Cooper-Godlove CPIC Awards of Excellence Winners • Educational Vendors

  5. What is the Fed/ Industry Ratio? • Every year is slightly different, but the average is 50% Federal - 50% Government.

  6. What is my Value or Return on the Investment? • What’s your purpose? • Meeting professionals • Connecting with companies • Connecting with the government • Learning more about a potential opportunity? • What are your objectives? • Continuing Education • Professional Development • Finding a Job

  7. Consistent Value • Approximately 150-250 attendees per year. • Usually in the spring of each year. • Meals and Refreshments are included. • Cooper-Godlove CPIC Awards of Excellence Luncheon • CIO Panel • OMB & GAO Participation • Vendor/ Exhibit Area (Pavillion) • Personal Introductions • Name Badges with Identification of Agency or Company affiliation • CPIC Community Special Interest Groups Produce Findings Each Year

  8. Networking “Everybody who is anybody in CPIC is at this conference every year. It’s a no-brainer. It’s how I stay current on all the most up-to-date knowledge before it’s even published as guidance. It’s how I know what to teach the next generation of students each year” J.B., CPP-I certified Instructor

  9. Recruiting • There are very few ways to successfully identify and recruit CPIC/Governance Talent • The CPIC Community is extremely small and close-knit • Recruiting agencies’ recruiters are not trained to be able to discern appropriate qualifications and credentialing • Single venue for the best and brightest in the government and industry • Best source of C2AI participants-in-training and Capital Planning Certified Professionals in attendance • Forum Members/Partners may be eligible for assistance with specific vacancy recruiting. Email c2ai@cpicforum.orgfor more information.

  10. Business Development & Sales The CPIC Forum has received numerous reports: • Associating closed business as a result of connections made directly during the conference. • Scheduling follow-on meetings and appointments • Facilitating demonstrations, presentations • Structuring contracts and teaming arrangements • Making connections with contacts that were not previously accessible

  11. Competitive Intelligence • Your competition is probably attending or sponsoring this event, and it’s common for someone to raise awareness of who is and is not in attendance in such a small community. • Sometimes absence is more noticeable than presence. • Federal agency executives have actually remarked to us when a company is courting them and doesn’t show at this event. • It’s pretty easy to assess the competitive landscape based upon who’s committed to the community.

  12. Teaming Partners • The Director of the Forum is known to facilitate introductions for teaming opportunities if aware of what corporations’ goals and objectives are in advance of a conference. • The Director is also known for advising sponsors of who may be of special interest to speak to based upon an understanding of an attendee’s objectives.

  13. Connecting With Industry • Tool Vendors with new modules, interfaces, upgrades – latest and greatest • Companies with stories to tell about solutions they’ve created and provided, and where. • Usually the client is there too to validate something represented as a success. • Great way to connect with Candidates-to-Analysts Initiative (C2AI) Participants in training and Certified Capital Planning Professionals (CPP)
