What is a Food Chain? • A series of events in which one organism eats another to obtain energy!
What is a food web? • Many overlapping food chains in an ecosystem!
What is a producer • A Plant!
What is a consumer? • An organism that obtains energy by feeding on another organism!
What is a primary consumer • First level consumer- eats producer (must be an omnivore or herbivore---NO CARNIVORES)
What is a Tertiary Consumer • An organism at the top of the food chain- eats secondary consumers
Carnivores… • Eat only meat!
Herbivores • Eat only plants
Omnivores • Eat plants and animals
