Aside from the fact that they are easier to operate, windows that are in good condition can help you save energy by keeping your home temperature at a consistent level and by not allowing outside air to get inside your home. Aside from that, it can also help increase security and improve the curb appeal of your home. But the big question is, how much would it cost you to repair your broken windows?

  3. When it comes to the amount that you would need to shell out for repairs, you have to consider three factors: the type of damage, the kind of window and the number of windows that need to be fixed.

  4. Type of damage and numbers of broken windows to fix Glass replacement- the cost of replacing the glass greatly rely on the type of glass needed. Different types of glass like insulated, double-glazed, and single pane all have varying prices. Glass replacement can cost you an average of $3 to $14 per square foot. For instance, a single pane window that measures 12 square feet, the cost can go from $36 to $168. To know how much you need to pay for all broken glasses, just multiply the cost of one window to the number of windows that need to be replaced. Since replacing window glass is just a straightforward task, you can do it yourself or have it done by a handyman for around $50.00 to $100.00 per regular sized windows.

  5. Glazing- the type of glazing that you have to replace also needs to be added to the cost. Insulated or double paned windows repair typically requires you to pay more than on the type of glass. Repairing the window itself can cost you around $280. Frame damage- The cost of repairing a damaged frame can go as high as $800 or even more. However, if the frame is already heavily damaged or rotten, you would need to construct new windows. This will cost you around 50% to 100% more than just replacing your windows but it is all worth it.

  6. Types of Windows Almost all of the usual window repairs will cost you an average of $133 to $458. For a one single pane window, the typical repair cost around $50.00. For double pane, two windows, the cost play around $350.00 to $400.00. Bay windows with three panes cost as low as $500.00 and as high as $1,000.00 while the bow windows with five or more panes cost as much as $3,000. If your windows need more extensive repairs than just your glass pane, you can have your windows replaced instead. The installation will cost you around $300 to $700 per window and the entire cost can run as much as $900 or even more per window.
