  3. 1.8-2,5 metreye kadar boylanabilir. Dikine yükselen kalın ve sağlam yapılı gövdeleri ince tüylerle kaplıdır.

  4. Beyaz, pembe, mor, sarı, kırmızı çiçekleri olabilir. Çiçekleri çizgili ya da lekeli olabilir. Kısa saplı ve ya sapsız olarak açan çiçekleri 5-10cm genişlikte yalınkat ama bitkinin kültür çeşitlerinde katmerli olurlar.

  5. Geniş ve yuvarlak yaprakları kalp biçimindedir. Gövde keçemsi ve yıldızsı tüylü. Yapraklar 5-7 loplu ve hafif kalınlaşmış.

  6. EKOLOJİK İSTEKLERİ TOPRAK: Toprak tipi konusunda seçici olmayan althea, suyu iyi akıntılı(süzek), killi ve besin maddelerince zengin iyi gübrelenmiş toprakları sever.

  7. SU: Makul derecede sulanır.IŞIK: Bol güneşli yerleri sever.SICAKLIK: Sıcak havaları sever.

  8. Tohum ekimi Şubat’tan Mart’a veya Eylül’den Ekim’ e kadardır. Yaz ortasından sonuna dek çiçeklenir(Haziran-Ekim).
