  1. What is SkillSurfer™? SkillSurfer is an online assessment solution that helps teachers monitor student progress daily in reading, language arts, and mathematics in preparation for benchmark assessments.

Obtain a quick snapshot of student progress Assess students on skills defined by state standards of learning Review results of numerous assessments—automatically scored for you immediately Identify at-risk students Pinpoint specific skills for in-depth classroom instruction Monitor student progress across multiple levels of performance Facilitate managementof student learning Aid students in taking ownership of their learning SkillSurfer helps teachers:

  3. A student can log on to SkillSurfer whenever and wherever there is an Internet connection and take a test created by Riverside or by his or her teacher.

  4. Tests items are formatted in one of two ways: • A single question per screen • A split screen with the graphic and statement on the left and the questions on the right

  5. When a test is completed, the student clicks the Grade My Test button. The student immediately receives a Play Back Report with test results that show his or her level of mastery of one or more standards.

  6. A teacher can easily create a test by selecting the subject, grade, and standard to assess.

  7. After selecting the desired number of items and then creating the test, the teacher can assign it to the entire class or to a group of students.

  8. As soon as a student completes the test, the teacher can review the results through a variety of reports.

  9. SkillSurfer offers many reports for teachers including: • Skill Proficiency Report by Student • Skill Proficiency Report by Class • Skill Gap Analysis • Item Analysis Report • Class List Report
