  2. Purpose • To offer an internationally recognized curriculum to students who are not opting for IBDP.

  3. AS (CIE) • They are taken in over 125 countries and offer a choice of 60 different subjects • They are part of the Cambridge Advanced stage

  4. AS • Cambridge International AS Levels often represent the first half of an A Level course but may also be taken as a freestanding qualification.

  5. AS • Cambridge AS Levels are accepted in all UK universities and carry half the weighting of an A Level. • Countries such as the USA and Canada also recognizes AS.

  6. AS • Cambridge International AS • have a proven reputation for preparing learners well for university employment and life. • They help develop the in-depth subject knowledge and understanding which are so important to universities and employers.

ARKIS Subjects • Cambridge English • Language and Literature in English) • Cambridge Mathematics • Mathematics (our choice) • Cambridge Science • Physics • Chemistry (all) • Biology • Cambridge Humanities and Social Science • No subject from this group (CIE). But we have Social studies and Religion from MOE • Cambridge Business, Technical and Vocational • Business Studies • Art and Design (IGCSE) • PE (we will follow AS syllabus). • Modern languages • Arabic language

  12. Course Duration • AS topics will be taught over a period of 2 years followed by an • External Assessment from CIE

  15. Recognition • AS and A level qualifications are widespread international recognition. • All around the world • Accepted as an entry qualification by universities of the European union.

  16. Ministry of Education • Equalization of the British IGCSE & “A” level to Bahrain General Secondary School Certificate: • “should have a passing grades in GCSE,IGCSE,five “O” level subjects and a passing grades in Four AS Level, as they equal two”A”level

  17. Entry to BIBF • 5 IGCSE and 4 AS - students will be accepted at Foundation Level

  18. Arabian Gulf University • Student must have a Secondary School Certificate ( 5 IGCSE and 4 AS= Secondary school Certificate according to MOE) • Along with their own entrance test.

  19. RAS Al KHAIMAH Medical & Health Sciences University (UAE) • British curriculum: • 2 AS level with C grade after completion of 5 IGCSE/GCE/O level with minimum grade C. • Courses must include Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 2 of them at AS level and 1 at IGCSE/o/GCE level

  20. University of Bahrain • Student must have a Secondary School Certificate ( 5 IGCSE and 4 AS= Secondary school Certificate according to MOE

  21. UK &USA • Accepts AS but students will be enrolled at foundation level. • In USA sometimes require SAT Subject Test also

  22. University of Kent • Foundation programme entry requirements • Students who have taken the Tawjihiyah will be considered for foundation entry. We typically require students to achieve a minimum grade average of 80% to qualify for our foundation programmes. • We offer 1 year foundation programmes in Biological Sciences, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic and Communications Engineering, Forensic Science, Management Science, Mathematics and Physics.
