(Hold both for more than two seconds simultaneously) The following work when the set is in the TV mode: To Clear the V-Chip Password: hold the Volume Down key on the set and the “0” key on the remote for more than two seconds. To RESET the set to “out-of-box” condition (delete channel scan list, passwords, etc.: Hold the Volume Down on the TV and the 1 button on the remote for over two seconds. Turn the set on and pull the AC power. (This ensures that the TV will come on again when next plugged in) Remove the access cover on the back of the set and insert the USB device.

    32. TV Software Update Procedure continued Connect to AC power. The update begins automatically. Do not remove AC power during the update process!

    33. TV Software Update Procedure cont. When the update is complete, the checksum screen is displayed The checksum info is for the old software, not the code just loaded! After the update is complete, remove the USB device and cycle AC power.

    34. DVD Firmware Updates In the extremely unlikely event of an update to the DVD firmware, download the software to a bootable CD-R. Turn on the TV, switch to DVD mode Insert the CD-R Follow the directions on the screen

    35. 120Hz Models LxxFHD2X48 Due to panel supply issues, these models are coming late in the model year and volumes will be small. A letter “M” will flash on the left side of the screen if in service mode. Press Menu for the service menu

    36. ADC Calibration ADC (analog to digital converter) calibration should be done for every analog input. It is necessary to use the correct input signal for the alignment. The alignment is automatic

    37. Factory Menu 1 Contains alignments for color temperature, peak white, black level Presets for Dynamic Black Offset, sub black level and sub peak white. Store results when exiting this screen.

    38. Factory Menu 1 Cool color temperature Only highlights are adjusted for warm and cool color temperatures. Lowlights have a fixed offset from the normal setting. May be necessary to readjust normal after the warm and cool are adjusted

    39. Factory Menu 2 The first item IFC is a preset and should not be changed. NVM INIT is used to preset the software for alignment in the factory. It can overwrite alignment data. (There should be no reason to ever change NVM init in the field) Shop End is used to reset to Out-of-Box condition. It will remove all passwords, channel scan lists, and parental controls. Burning Mode is used to “age” the set on the assembly line to warm the panel for alignment. It should not be used for service. SRS mode selects between SRS TruSurround and SRS Wow. The set already comes with the highest of the SRS types, but it is possible to replace it with the lower performing SRS Wow.

    40. Software Information Menu Contains main software version Contains firmware version for several ICs Contains hardware ID for main chipset
