  2. Practical Writing Notes and letters are very common means in passing your message to other people when you cannot talk to them in person. Usually notes are short and not to be mailed; they are left at home, at the office or with a neighbor or friend for people to read.

  19. Résumé A résumé is a brief written account of one’s personal details. When we are applying for a job, we usually send a résumé together with our letter of application.

  20. A résumé usually consists of personal details, including name, address, telephone numbers, date of birth and sex, education, experience and e-mail address. We may also add marital status, health, present/current status, and nationality if we are applying for a job in a foreign country.
