Introductions • Who is Ms. Barmore? • Why has Ms. Barmore chosen to spend her life teaching math? • Where in the world has Ms. Barmore taught? • What’s Ms. Barmore’s job at PHA? • Your questions….. • Who are you? • Name. • Years at PHA. • One thing you enjoy about math. • One thing you are looking forward to senior year.

  4. Course Expectations Popcorn: • One person reads and expectation paragraph. • Pause for any questions. • Popcorn to a new person to read. • Repeat.

  5. Math Biography Write a one page math biography. Questions you may use to prompt your thinking: • What aspects of mathematics do you think you are “good” at? “bad” at? Why? • Describe a time when you struggled to understand something in math class. What helped you overcome your difficulty the most? • What do you enjoy about math? What do you dislike? • Name one goal you have for yourself in this course. Do not name a grade or AP score– if this is where your brain goes, instead think about what you would need to do to earn that grade/score. • What else do I need to know about you to be a good teacher?
