  2. What? Who? When? When God wanted to create content for the greatest story ever told… Why? Where? How?

  3. Where?

  4. The traditional site of the birthplace of Jesus is the cave under the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

  5. Mic5:2  "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”

  6. Mic4:8  "As for you, tower of the flock, Hill of the daughter of Zion, To you it will come—Even the former dominion will come, The kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.

  7. Jewish tradition may here prove both illustrative and helpful. That the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem was a settled conviction [Mic. 5:2]. Equally so was the belief, that He was to be revealed from Migdal Eder, “the tower of the flock” [Mic. 4:8]. This Migdal Eder was not the watchtower for the ordinary flocks which pastured on the barren sheep ground beyond Bethlehem, but lay close to the town, on the road to Jerusalem. A passage in the Mishnah leads to the conclusion, that the flocks which pastured there were destined for Temple sacrifices and, accordingly, that the shepherds who watched over them were not ordinary shepherds. . . . --Alfred Edersheim--

  8. Luk2:8-16  Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

  9. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.

  10. When?

  11. Gal 4:4  But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,

  12. Psalm 139:4-7  Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.  Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?

  13. Isa 42:8-9  "I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. "Behold, the former things have come to pass, Now I declare new things; Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.”

  14. John 13:19  "From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He.

  15. Act 1:6-7  So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”  He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.

  16. Rom 8:28  And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. God’s purpose and our good

  17. Isa 46:9  "Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;

  18. Jer1:12  Then the LORD said to me, "You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it.”

  19. Jesus lived for 33 years on this earth, and with one exception never traveled more than 150 miles from His birthplace. We may ask and ponder the question of who, what, how, and why, but when it comes to where and when, we face the realization that for now, we are a captive of time and space.

  20. 1Pe 5:6  Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
