Éteres. Los éteres son una variante de los alcoholes, que se obtienen sustituyendo el hidrógeno del grupo hidroxilo por un radical alcano. Son compuestos orgánicos en los que un átomo de oxígeno une dos radicales carbonados.

  1. Éteres • Los éteres son una variante de los alcoholes, que se obtienen sustituyendo el hidrógeno del grupo hidroxilo por un radical alcano. • Son compuestos orgánicos en los que un átomo de oxígeno une dos radicales carbonados

Se nombran (en la nomenclatura radicofuncional) por orden alfabético, los radicales unidos al - O-, seguidos de la palabra ÉTER  En la nomenclatura sustitutiva, se nombra el radical más sencillo (con la palabra OXI), seguido sin guión del nombre del hidrocarburo del que deriva el radical más complejo CH3- CH2- O - CH3 CH3- CH2- O - CH2- CH3 CH3- O - CH3 CH3- CH2- O - CH3 ÉTERES dimetil éter dietil éter etilmetil éter metoxietano
