INTRODUCTION • As you know the mining boom Australia has meant that Human Resources Department have to look to employing a very diverse range of ethic employees for all levels of the industry. • I am working in large catering company that services several mines as a executive chef. • I have been asked to be a guest speaker at a conference that focus on the diversty of employees in the workplace in the industry.

  3. ROLE MODEL • The organisers asked to me to give a speech. • I am working with multicultured people. I use to cook various type of food like Chinese, Asian, Indian according to the customers requirements. Every one likes my food & share every cuisine. • It is a very hard to accept one culture tradition.

  4. MULTICULTURALISM IN WORKPLACE • Every culture has its own need to do a thing multiculturalism in a workplace to include courses for example when we cook Indian food we use lot of spices Chinese use boiling mathed to cook their food . Indian people eat lot of curry and China eat lot of meat.

  5. BENEFITS AND CHALLANGES • This shows respect for workplace diversity .there are some benefit & challenges of workplace diversity are one can close to a different culture tradition and behavior of particular religion.

  6. COACHING, MENTORING & TRAINING • I am working in a company where different type of culture people working. I use to train them, coach them regarding work but still some issue arise in the workplace like; some people don’t known English than its very hard to explain them about any thing.

  7. CROSS CULTURAL ISSUE • Some people have religion belief such as Muslim don’t touch or eat pork and Indian specially Hindu & Sikhs do not eat cow meat. If we force them to eat meat than it will a big cultural issue.

  8. VIDEO • Sometimes people don’t understand then we show them a video, so that people understand better whats happing and we explained them.

  9. TASK 2: DEVELOP & PREPARE DIVERSITY RESPECT • After your employees and team members have developed an appreciation for the things which they have in common, their humanity will drive them towards respecting on other. If so learning to spot these things is crucial for encouraging in an organization.

  10. IDENTIFING • Start making it a point to pay attention on employees behavior patterns, which are naturally working to destroy diversity.

  11. ENCOURAGE RESPECT • Most of the time when people think of encouragingrespect and diversity within on organization, there is a significant on diversity of race, sex, color and other factor, however few people consider importance of the talent diversity in an organization.

  12. ACTIVITY/TASK • A great approach to being cultivating this kind of respect and diversity in an organization is to start giving recognition for the people who perform task which otherwise would go unnoticed.

It is all possible , it might be a good idea to have some of your more influention team members spend some time to observing other department or working alongside people who perform their different task. • After nothing cultivates mutual respect and understanding like having someone walking with another person’s shoes. • What you will find is that the more you encourage people to respect diversity of talent. • The more encouraged they will be to respect diversity of all kind.
