Gray Market Charters • Potential illegal operation • Owner compensated for flight, without commercial operating authority to sell transportation • Dangerous for owners, customers and pilots • Invalidates insurance coverage on the aircraft • Aircraft financing at risk (loans versus leases) • Owners & flight crews are subject to stiff fines • Pilots subject to FAA enforcement action
