  5. The Des Moines Register

  6. Wow! I don’t know if this is a record or not, but it’s 3 p.m. and we have pushed out 8 posts already. Four from media relations and four from the News network team. Plus we moved an embargoed release back into the mix as well. As far as I know there were no stumbles or stepping on each other in trying to get the posts up.  A great example of teamwork and coordination. Joel Streed

  7. Quote of the Year Just an aside from a meeting today with three of Gov. Ducey’s staff – Mike Liburdi, chief counsel, Danny Seiden, deputy chief of staff, and Christina Corieri, health policy advisor. The Governor’s office called the meeting to talk about the latest on the compact and specifically assure us - Mayo Clinic - that they are committed to help how they can. It was a good meeting, and there were some positive signs that Sen. Biggs may be bending a bit on the issue – at least today. During the meeting Steve was answering questions about the compact  and offered a printed sheet with additional background and Danny Seiden said, “you don’t have to sell US on the compact, you had us at Mayo Clinic…” Jim McVeigh

  8. Praise and Recognition

  9. Kudos Sandra On your second Silver quality improvement project recognition – Leaning In and Mayo Clinic project

  10. Kudos Bob, Sharon, Margaret I have to say the response to this article has been overwhelming. I have already communicated to over a dozen patients. Some beyond what I can assist but a few that are coming here for 2nd opinion. Apparently this article was also on Facebook? I am not on Facebook but my wife showed me several hundred responses and many of them directing questions to me. How can I get access to these? Mark Truty, M.D.

  11. Kudos Maureen I was talking with Amy Henner for a couple of minutes while we both were in the break room and she LOVES the binder and LOVES how much she has been welcomed and all the time our team has been training her!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your time with the Welcome Project you took on.  YOU ARE WONDERFUL and it is DEFINITELY a WONDERFUL help to new hires as well as your email with the links. THANK YOU MAUREEN!! Lizann Williams

  12. Kudos Matt Wanted to let you know Elaine really appreciated your work on this project. She was very complimentary of all your contributions to the team. Jason Fortin

  13. Kudos Joe Just a great story…trustees writing to me with congrats, too. My thanks to you all. John Noseworthy, M.D.

  14. Kudos Genelle Genelle - you handle this all so well. Thank you for all the legwork and in-depth background work on this. It's not easy, and I appreciate your professionalism handling this but also your honesty and humanity too. Our contractors do important - and niche - work for us, and you understand that. I very much appreciated working with you and Karl on this, and hope for a good outcome! Thanks very much, TraciKlein

  15. Kudos Florida Team Thank you for a very strong day for Mayo Clinic and MCF in particular. Thank you all for making it happen and orchestrating it so well. We are well on our way to being the destination medical center of the south east. A very good day.  Christina and I thank you. GianricoFarrugia, M.D.

  16. Kudos Duska I LOVE the title - in Forbes no less!! Duska, thank you to you and your team for all the assistance in helping the researchers to tell the story - great story for Mayo. All, this is a licensing deal out of Arizona (Dr. Stepanek and Cevette). Barb Keller was the licensing manager in MCV on the deal. Jim Rogers

  17. Kudos Bob and Discovery’s Edge Team Just wanted to thank you for such a nice job on the article and to give you some follow-up. The response to it has been overwhelming to say the least. From the Facebook posting alone there have literally been hundreds of posts from patients around the country and reading through them has been quite emotional. I have personally received over 2 dozen emails from patients to review their cases. Despite many of these patients having end-stage disease I have already seen a couple and several more coming to see me with what appears tumors that we can do something about, and thus was the purpose of the article to begin with…to offer hope and to get the word out for a 2nd opinion that may change their course. In addition I just ran into Mr. Hansen today (1 of the pts from the article) and he is free and clear of the cancer at this time and looks fantastic. He has set up a support group for fellow pancreatic cancer pts and has invited me to join them in near future. Also Mr. Hoffman (the other patient in the article) has contacted several of my other long-term survivors in South Dakota and they have developed a mutual bonded friendship that occurred because of the article. Again, thank you and please send my grateful appreciation to Greg Breining as well as the photographer, illustrators, and everyone that made this happen. We are going to change outcomes for many patients as a result. Mark J. Truty, M.D., M.Sc.

  18. Kudos Annie and Lee Annie and Lee did a fantastic job presenting the opening keynote at the International Association of Business Communicator’s Convergence Summit on Monday. They shared some thoughts about our restructure and how it has helped us better collaborate across teams. I heard a lot of positive feedback on the session from other attendees. Kudos to them! Megan Forliti

  19. Kudos Maren I have reviewed (stewardship report). This is really superb, especially given the interests and preferences of Mr. Dan Abraham. I have no edits. WELL DONE. Michael Camilleri, M.D.

  20. Kudos Makala Sara Lee, THANK YOU for connecting Makala with us. She was super! She had a PowerPoint that answered most of our questions, shared with us the guidelines document Mayo Clinic uses, and best of all, a blog post from Lee Aase that offers 15 reasons for docs to use Twitter. I can't think of a better professional to help us out, and of course, I owe it all to you. I simply can't express my gratitude for all the ways you have come through for me, and for AU. JacielKeltgenAugustana UniversitySioux Falls

  21. Kudos Ginger Ginger did an amazing job working with Chip and his crew to ensure everything went well during the extensive filming of this documentary at the medical school. It was a joy working with her!  Deb Anderson

  22. Kudos Staff Engagement Team Very well done! I was impressed by the speakers, and the show flow was flawless. Having supported Town Halls in the past with incessant technical difficulties, I think you and your team nailed it. Tara Tierney

  23. Kudos Public Affairs Team I’ve really been impressed with the support we’re getting and your department’s ability to get the word out. Thank you! I think it’s important for Mayo to be recognized as a leader in Regenerative Medicine and this is a “backbone” play that should get the attention of a lot of groups that Mayo, in addition to Vitruvian, wants to work with.  James A. Rogers III

  24. Kudos Kelley, Susan and Duska I want to recognize Kelley, Susan and Duska for their excellent teamwork yesterday. They jumped in and helped me cover some unexpected media escorts. The day went smoothly, and it is so wonderful to work with such fantastic colleagues! Thank you! Megan Forliti
