  3. THE THREE Rs 1. Record. During the lecture\reading, jot down as many meaningful facts as possible in the right column. 2. Reduce. As soon as possible, group these ideas with labels or memory keys in the left column. 3. Recall. To study or write a paraphrase of the material, cover the right column and use the memory keys in the left column to help you recall the information.
