  3. R&J Word Sort (p. 125) • Divide the page into THREE columns. • When your page is set up, getthe laminated handout from your teacher. • Review the words to find out what they have in common. It’s okay if you don’t know some words. Guess how they might relate to the other words. • Divide the words into three categories of your choosing in your notebook. You have 7 minutes for this task.

  5. Word Sort Story (p. 124) With a partner, choose five words and write them on the top of the page. Write a story using your five words. Both partners must record the story in their notebooks. Be ready to read your story to the class. You have 13 minutes to complete this task.

  6. Story Share • Share your story for extra credit. • Tell the class the FIVE words you chose and then read your story.

  7. R&J Vocab (p. 126-127) • Align the vocabulary sheets with the red margin lines of your notebook. • Paste in the sheets. • Use the PowerPoint to fill in missing words. • Later, you will select TWO words from each side to illustrate to fill in remaining blank spaces.
