  1. Why the Library Should Affect Your College Choice

  2. The college library is an important hub of campus life. There, you can check out books, conduct your research, find a quiet place to study, and maybe even flip through a magazine

  3. Ways Your College Library Can Help You • Foreign sources of information • Credible Information • Information operatives • Study Spaces • Internet

  4. 1. What is the staff like? • Think of some things you might need as a student and ask the librarian at the reference desk what kind of resources their school offers. An important thing to note is that schools' libraries are different based on the school's size.

  5. How much does the library system and its librarians interact and work with faculty? • professors and librarians at many schools work together to create course content or inform each other's work and research. If you can get a sense of the relationship and bond between these two major parts of campus life, you can get a nice picture of how smoothly you can research class topics and projects.

  6. Study alone • It also means that, during peak study periods (such as finals week), students would do well to get to the library early to secure the study spot of their choice!

  7. Use the online databases • Lessen your students’ stress by reminding them that they can access their college’s databases from their own computer. Typically, all they’ll need is internet access and a username and password

  8. You can sample new tech and borrow what’s current. • The library keeps up with the latest technology, showcasing things like Chrome books and 3D printers and allowing students to test them out. It also lends out digital cameras, tablets, laptops and video cameras that students may need to use during the semester.

  9. You can find the textbooks you need for class. • Physical or electronic copies of your class textbooks — even the latest editions — are available for free at the library. Forget about buying a new copy from the bookstore.
