  2. Who works in the library? • Mrs. Kilik, Library Assistant • Mme Ferrer, Teacher-Librarian • Mr. Schellenberg, Teacher (block 1)

When can I use the library? • Before school (8:00 to 8:45 am) • During Flex Time (11:15 – 11:45am) Library is closed during advisory • During lunch (11:45 am – 12:30 pm) • After school (3:00 to 3:30 pm) - Extended hours after school – ask Mme Ferrer • During class time with your subject teacher

What are the behaviour expectations in the library? • Enter and leave the library quietly. • Work quietly - whisper when talking. • Please do not eat food in the library. • Please do not talk on cell phones. • Please use ear-buds to listen to music. • Please push in your chair before you leave. Always be considerate of others Library Police

  6. What are the circulation rules? • Have your Go-card ready for faster service. • Maximum sign out is 10 items. • Sign out period is 2 weeks EXCEPT: • Magazines => 3 day loan • Reference & Reserve => in library use • Please return all items ASAP

  7. How many print resources does the library have? • 3000 Fiction books • 3000 Nonfiction books • 320 Reference titles • 35 Magazine subscriptions • Including French, Spanish & Japanese! • Our collection is searchable online 24 hrs a day!

  8. How many electronic resources does the library have? • HWS Library Online • Online Databases: • eLibrary Canada • 430 newspapers, 1740 magazines and much more! • World Book Encyclopedia Online • Gale Online Reference Centre • Encyclopedia of BC • Oxford Online Dictionary • And many more!

  9. What types of services does the library offer? • Computer accounts (new account, password, etc.) • 16 networked computers and 1 laser printer • 1 computer lab (25 desktops) • 1 colour printer (25¢ per page) • 1 photocopier (10¢ per page) • Paper trimmer, poster paper, glue, scissors, pencil crayons, etc. • Ask us to print class sets!
