Illinois Cooperative Work Study Program Program Objectives Include: • Expand Opportunities • Strengthen Cooperation • Encourage Social and Community Service • Maximize Use of Matching Contributions • Create New Opportunities • Reduce Reliance on Student Loans • Encourage Students to Seek Permanent Employment in Illinois

Bradley’s Program Supports Public Agenda Goals “The ICWS program supports the Public Agenda goals: • Goal 2 by allowing students to reduce their reliance on student loans while providing a link between academic programs and employment; • Goal 3 by prioritizing work study opportunities for students seeking degrees in high demand fields; • Goal 4 by increasing the pool of funds for job training, which can result in businesses expansions in Illinois and full-time employment for students after graduation.” (excerpt from IBHE Allocation Recommendations, p. 83)

FY2009 ICWS Final Evaluation Report Accomplishments • Reduced reliance on loans • Grant participants incurred less college-cost indebtedness • Career-related placements for Illinois residents for the purpose of encouraging permanent employment • Different academic backgrounds • Participating employers • Social or community services employers (66% of placement activity)

FY2009 ICWS Final Evaluation Report Accomplishments • Reduced reliance on loans • Grant participants incurred less college-cost indebtedness • 80 career-related placements for Illinois residents for the purpose of encouraging permanent employment • 23 different academic backgrounds • 25 participating employers (5 new employers) • 14 social or community services employers (66% of placement activity)
