Early Readmission and Length of Stay Practices in Dialysis: Insights from DOPPS Study

This study explores early readmission rates and length of hospitalization in dialysis patients using data from the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS). Analyzing baseline characteristics of 8,259 DOPPS-I participants, we examine the distribution of initial hospital admissions by diagnosis and the percentage of patients readmitted within 30 days. Findings provide critical insights into facility readmission rates and median length of stay, which can inform clinical practices and improve patient outcomes in dialysis care.
