Roosevelt Cooper Project Presentation 1 History : C++, Html, Java, C, Obj C.
  2. Introduction Plenty of applications have been made to relieve society of the difficulties of flagging down a cab, but have these apps done everything possible to make the customer satisfied? Can we not just think about the customer, but also the Cab Driver, and the company? There is always going to be competition, so why not join it.
  3. Issue People have a hard time trying to get a cab The current applications are pretty decent, but they don’t do enough for the: Customer Driver Company
  4. Competing Applications There are three main applications in which customers have pretty good, and bad reviews for : TaxiMagic Cabulous Ubercab
  5. TaxiMagic
  6. Pros Ability to call cab Ability to schedule cab for later pick-up Has site to schedule cab time
  7. Cons Client had no knowledge of the cab’s current position for clarification of arrival Driver must own an smartphone No confirmation of sent request from server to client Ultimately not user freindly

  11. Ubercab
  12. pros Ability to call cab Efficiency in time taken for cab to arrive Ability to preload credit card information
  13. cons The fare is 2-3x the cost of normal cab fare Basically used for special occasions because of the cost
  14. Apps Are Taking over
  15. Apps are the new resolution Smartphones are top of the market in society. Sales are steadily increasing every year as new apps are created to either entertain or solve societal issues. They are the key, so why not start an elite set of them.
  16. Solution I propose to make an application which combines all of the features of the top 3 apps on the market, plus add new features for the customer, driver, and the company.
  17. New User features Use an identification number randomly assigned by the program to the user, in case of an area crowded with multiple clients. Show companies with the best and most efficient service List drivers with the best rating based from customer feedback The user will be able to schedule for a cab ride everyday
  18. Driver features Alert driver by voice command, that there is a customer requesting pick-up How far away the customer is The quickest way to get to the customer Touch-scree commands to alert customer of necessary information.
  19. Company features Reward points can be offer with companies agreement. Special sales Possible security advantages
  20. Difficulties Possible errors in GPS Exactly how much can you pack into an application? Will it slow the phone down? Can the size of the app prevent it from working ? Possible errors in security, as far a profiles are concerned Code can be a little challenging Cost of software, and hardware for taxi
  21. The END THANK YOU!
