  1. Chaparral Middle School 2008 – 2009 Home of the Cougars Debbie Rubi - PIA

  2. Student of the Month • 9/9, 10/7, 11/18, 1/20, 2/17, 3/24, 5/12 • Honored an average of 60 students a month. • Hosted many parents and siblings • Students enjoyed the free coupons for Eeggee’s, McDonalds, Peter Piper Pizza • Parents enjoyed watching their students receive their certificates and reading teacher comments

  3. Student of the Month This Certificate Recognizes Dayana Student of the Month at Chaparral Middle School For Language Arts May 12, 2009 It has been a pleasure to have Dayana in my reading class. Dayana has demonstrated that she is serious about preparing herself for the 7th grade. Her participation and class work has been exemplary.

  4. Clothing for Students • Chaparral was able to clothe many students who had a need for uniforms due to the donations of 8th graders from 07/08. • Chaparral was able to provide uniforms for students for one reason or another was not in uniform for the day, eliminating the need to call their parent.

  5. Chaparral’s 1st annual carnival • We hosted our 1st carnival. The best idea was to pre-sell tickets to eliminate the long lines at the carnival. • Everyone had fun – parents, kids, brothers and sisters! We had one of our own bands provide the music. • Advertisement from SOL News Blast was great!! We couldn’t get the word out without them.

  6. Goals for 2009 - 2010 • Take pictures of events (for my PowerPoint next year) • Involve more parents to the PTO and events. • Have another amazing carnival • Involve students • Continue to get to know students. • Get parent computers set up in PIA room

  7. This was my first year at Chaparral and I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to next year and I have a lot of ideas to work with. This concludes my PowerPoint.  Have a great summer!!
