  12. How to find the relative minor from the MAJOR • Begin with MAJOR “Tonic” • Count DOWN three minor 2nds (or, three half steps) • The resulting pitch is the relative minor “Tonic.”

  13. How to find the MAJOR from relative minor • Begin with minor “Tonic” • Count UP three minor 2nds (or, three half steps) • The resulting pitch is the relative MAJOR “Tonic.”

  14. Quiz #9 • Beginning with “Tonic” and ascending through the next “Tonic,” draw a one octave C Major scale and label each scale degree. Use the Bass/F clef. • Define the following terms: • Presto • Largo • Mezzo • Moderato • Staccato
