4. Supporting Student Matriculation and Retention Assumptions: • A number of factors contribute to a student’s decision to attend CSUCI. • A student may choose not to attend CSUCI due to the unavailability of housing. This possibility is higher for new students – freshmen and transfers.

Supporting Student Matriculation and Retention Statistics: • Among our sister campuses, CI has the third highest percentage of students living on campus at 23% for Fall 2008. • In a survey conducted last year, CSUCI resident students reported that living on campus… • “has had a valuable impact on my educational experience at CSUCI” – 73% • “has had a positive impact on my studies” – 64%
