  1. When do you need to search bibliographic databases? When you are looking for articles/books in a specific topic without knowing what has been published!!

  3. Do you want something (anything) to read, or do you want to read the right thing?

  4. Please keep in mind… MathSciNet and Zentralblatt MATH don’t contain any electronic fulltext articles! They do sometimes contain links to electronic fulltext articles! You may or may not be able to access the electronic fulltexts by clicking on these links! It doesn’t hurt to try, though!

Published by the American Mathematical Society • Electronic version of Mathematical Reviews (MR) • MR published since 1940 • Over 2.600.000 references (growth 100.000 new items/year) • Articles, books, conference papers • 1.300.000 links to fulltext articles • Classification system, Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) • Since 2005 also citations information

Published by FIZ Karlsruhe, European Mathematical Society and Springer • Electronic version of Zentralblatt für Mathematik and Jahrbuch über die Fortschritte der Mathematik • published in paper since 1931 and 1869 respectively • Over 3.000.000 references (growth 120.000 new items/year) • Articles, books, conference papers • 1000.000 links to fulltext articles • Classification system, Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC)
