  2. Da Birth Place Kool DJHerc, who actually coined the term “hip hop,” began to realize that this was the beginning of a new genre. DJs began to incorporate little rhymes such as “throw your hands in the air and raise ‘em like you just don’t care.” • Hip hop first emerged in the South Bronx in the early 1970s. • 1520 Sedgwick Avenue is the starting point for Hip-Hop and rap music worldwide. It's where DJ KoolHerc presided over parties in the basement community room. • Kool DJ Herc migrated to the United States from Kingston, Jamaica and settled in the West Bronx of New York.

  3. Da MC MC means Microphone Controller. (Rapper or MC) one who uses a vocal style in which the artist speaks lyrically. The best rappers in the neighborhood were given the title MC. Rappers may write, memorize, or improvise their lyrics. The MC are the voice of Hip Hop culture and rap music. MCs, like Hip Hop, have evolved and even separated into different styles. There are the lyrical MCs,party MCs, Gangster MCs, Religious MCs, Tongue Twisting MCs, Crunk MCs, and many more.

  4. Behind Rap Music Rap refers to "spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics. Separated into content, flow, rhythm, rhyme, and delivery. Rap 1960s meaning was to converse. Rapping can be traced back to its African roots. Centuries before hip hop music existed. Break Dancing • is a popular style of street dance that was created and developed as part of hip-hop culture. • The dance consists of four primary elements: toprock, downrock, power moves and freezes/suicides. • The musical selection for b-boying is not restricted to hip-hop music as long as the tempo and beat pattern conditions are met. • A practitioner of this dance is called a b-boy, b-girl, or breaker. • These dancers often participate in battles, formal or informal dance competitions between two individuals or two crews. • http://youtu.be/y_zjxZXQIg4

Graffiti & Art • Graffiti is any type of public markings that may appear in the forms of simple written words to elaborate wall paintings. • Graffiti has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. • Spray paint, and marker pens have become the most commonly used graffiti materials. • Sometimes graffiti expresses social and political messages and a whole genre of artistic expression. • To others it is merely vandalism. • Graffiti can be used as a gang signal to mark territory or to serve as an indicator or "tag" for gang-related activity.

DaDj • Person who selects and plays recorded music for an audience. • Disc jockeys select and play music using multiple turntables. • Backs up one or more MCs, and they may also do turntable scratching to create percussive sounds. • Transfers the MCs music to the public, similar to a middle man in music industry.
