Today in AVID… Pick Up: Handouts at station 1 Have out: TRF Problem-Solution Essay’s and Speech Rubric Week #2 Quarter 3 (1/13-1/17) (calendar site) Monday, 1/13 • AVID Learning Goal: • I can incorporate transitions to improve flow within a paragraph and logically tie together arguments. • Homework: • Problem-Solution Essay due Thursday • Problem-Solution Speech due Thursday • TRF & Cornell Notes due Thursday • Activities/Assignments: • Problem-Solution Essay – Computer Lab (Room 301) Daily Question: How do I write a Problem-Solution Essay?

  4. Computer Lab Time!! • You will be writing your own resume today and Thursday. • This is due in class on Thursday!!!! • Make sure you are following computer lab rules. • Computer lab must be cleaned and chairs pushed in before we leave! • If you do not have your password let me know.

TRF - 40 minutes • Get into like subject groups • Use whiteboards in back of room • Get markers & erasers from cabinet under the AVID whiteboard next too the safety hood (Make sure you return them when done) • Complete the TRF and Reflection sheets • Turn in when done • I Will be stamping your Cornell notes while you work • YOU KNOW THE DRILL!! • If done early, work on homework assignments for classes! • NO GOOFING OFF!!!

  11. Essay Speech Time!! • While the speeches are being conducted, each one of you will be completing a rubric for each person’s speech. These will be averaged in for their grade along with my evaluation of the speech.
