  4. FOOD AUTHORITY • March 2005 – establishment of the Food Authority was agreed • The Food Authority started to operate in April 2005 • Part of the Ministry of Agriculture • 2 departments and 1 division = 33 employees

  9. Food Safety, Environmental Development and Pollution Prevention Department • responsible for monitoring of contaminants in the food chain • national competent authority for receiving applications on GM products according Reg. 1829/2003 • Coordination of RASFF in the Czech Republic
