  1. Trajection Series: Picture Your Strategy Use-it Cases Description: A picture really is worth a thousand words! This process introduces you to five conceptual diagrams that you can think through to give you a solid start to planning your business. How many times have you had to revisit your business plan just because you became “smarter” about where you want to take your business or where a new opportunity may exist. You can reduce frustrating business plan rewrites by setting the right trajectory for your business before you write a word. Approach: Writing a business plan is difficult even when you know all the answers. You may not know all the right answers, but by working through this process you may find yourself asking all the right questions, and that will lead to a smart business strategy. The methods in this process help you look at the most significant business concepts so that you can FOCUS on specific aspects of your business while seeing how all the strategy elements interact and impact one another. Complete and use these pictures to communicate your direction then refine them until the dust settles and you feel you’re ready to write your business plan. Methods: Business Model Strategy: This method helps you think through the Strategic Question: How will you run your business and how do you make money at this business? The resulting Picture: Your Business Model Diagram. b) Product Strategy: This method helps you think through the strategic question: What products/services will you sell now & going forward. T he resulting Picture: Your Product & Market Segmentation Roadmap. c) Market Strategy: This method helps you think through the Strategic Question: How are you going to be compared to your competitors and how will you win? The resulting Picture: Your Market Positioning Diagram. d) Operations Strategy: This method helps you think through the Strategic Question: What all needs to be done to get your product to your customers? The resulting Picture: Your Milestone Map. e) Sales Strategy: This method helps you answer the Strategic Question: How are you going to sell your product and what do you need to have in place to be able to do that?
