  2. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • Enjoyed the data mining and used it to either clarify or confirm thoughts and ideas on sub pops as well as areas of success. • I would have liked to have more time to complete tasks during the meeting. I felt rushed and didn't have an opportunity to complete one activity completely. • Excellent opportunity to work with my team to disaggregate data. • I think that it was beneficial for all of us to be working on these activities together. It should be a decision that we all are a part of.

  3. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • I like the fact that campus leaders were able to explore the process of CIP. • Good use of time and a way to start the brain thinking about the CIP • While soliciting feedback from the group is always beneficial, the actual writing of the plan should rest with the Principal. Therefore, I found there to be too much lag time after 'Aha' moments were shared. • I love the Data Dig, with district scores and scores of the other schools. This is our frame of reference for interpreting data.

  4. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • The most beneficial part for us was the rich conversations we were able to have about our data. • I am a new principal and I can tell you the information was invaluable. • … I would have loved time to share with other campuses similar to ours too. • Given the number of people in the room, it was really difficult to focus on getting any CIP work done. • … we do not have time on campus to really think without numerous interruptions. This gave us the time and we had you there to help explain data and what would be expected.

  5. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • It is a great way to get the team together and really look and dig through the data at a set time and place. • Planning that occurs during the data meetings is important for our campus and the students. • There is not enough time in the beginning of the year to accomplish what we do in the meeting during the summer. • I think the activity is a good way to get a lot of information in a relatively short time. • Great team planning time. Allows all members to hear same information. • I like to be informed about my campus. It was nice to know how the ratings are given, what the state is expecting in the future, and what our campus is working towards before the beginning of the school year.

  7. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • As a teacher, I'm not interested in ratings. I still have to do my job to the best of my ability no matter how many or few categories each student will fall in. • Interpretation and use of data is a continuing portion of our jobs and it helps to be able to sit down with the accountability department and ask questions and/or receive pertinent information. • I felt like this meeting was for our administrators who write the CIP. • It benefits the campus to have an informed leadership team. • Staying current with the state's expectations as they relate to our district and to my campus are important to me.

  8. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • I appreciated hearing the information directly from accountability department and being able to ask specific questions related to information in person. • I think the information provided was more for campus specialists and administrators. • I think it's important to understand the components that make up the accountability rating. • The sessions were very useful in planning for next year and it's important for classroom teachers to take part in these sessions to have a "voice" in the process. • I like the group meetings because I get a better understanding of the data. Everybody at the table has an opportunity to have some input and I take with me a lot more than just what I had to share.

  9. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • The work with team leaders was great! • I like knowing where my school is, not only as an entity unto itself, but also in relation to other schools, the district, and the state. I appreciate the opportunity to delve deeply into data and plan with other people on my campus without the encumbrance of having to "get back to the kids," grade papers, etc. • It is very useful information not only to campus leadership teams but teachers as well.. • Just looking at the data and having the support of Mr. Bigner and Mrs. Moore there as well as someone from DOSA was comforting.

  10. Feedback on Summer Data Meetings • I appreciate having the tasks and questions to guide our "dig." • Allowing teachers to review data with you as the administrator is very powerful. • It clarifies my data search and helps me focus properly with my team. It also provides support and insight from the accountability department. • It helps to have a facilitator to help us understand what we are looking for. I learn every time I attend. • It is great staff development for the teachers on the data team.
