  4. Psychological effects • Depression • Insomnia • Self Harm & harm to others • Alcohol Abuse • Increased stress • Mood changes • Relationship strain • Sense of isolation, hopelessness • Self esteem shift

  5. Physical effects • Regu mate – Women Vs Men Administering • Lack of safety equipment & procedures followed • Environmental dangers • Flooding • Drought • Location of health services • Working hours change – e.g. glandular fever, smoking, alcohol abuse.

What can health professions do? • Work together with horse studs and cattle stations in addressing psychological support and screening • Addressing Occupational Health and Safety Procedures, advising psychological & physical causes • Education prevention campaigns specific to stud and stations to have gain awareness, prevention is the best cure. • Strict guidelines on the use of how drugs are being administered
