  4. Know the video interview type you are appearing for There are two types of video interviews. Your preparation will depend on which interview type you will appear in. One-way video interview – Only the candidate has to appear in the interview where they will record their answer for the questions on the screen. Once you click on the submit button, these recordings will be sent to the recruiters. Live video interview – Both the candidate and interviewers have to be present simultaneously over a face-to-face video call. They can go back and forth to ask for relevant details about the job position.

  5. Dress professionally to create a good impression • Dressing up for a video interview is as important as an in-person interview. A well-dressed candidate will automatically create a strong impression of being serious about the interview. • For men, you should put on a plain shirt, formal pants, tie, suit jacket, and formal shoes. If you don’t have a pair of suits, you can wear a plain sweater to look professional. • For women, you should go with a pencil skirt or dress pants along with a button-down shirt, blouse, or a knee-length dress.

  6. Prepare questions to ask the interviewer At the end of the interview, you’ll be asked if there is anything that you want to ask the interviewer.
