  13. Matching Grants – assist in funding international humanitarian service projects District Simplified Grants – support the service activities or humanitarian endeavors of Rotarians. Prefer local projects, but can used for either local or international projects. Max. of 20% of DDF. This year amount is $22,213 Volunteer Service Grants – supports the travel of individual Rotarians planning or implementing service projects GRANTS

  17. Annual Programs Fund – This is the essence of the “Every Rotarian Every year” initiative. We encourage all Rotarians to be sustaining members (giving US$100 every year for 10 years). Pledge for 2007-08 is $280,000. Very doable as last year’s end result was $317,000! Diana Parker - chair SOURCES OF FUND SUPPORT

Permanent Fund / Planned Giving – Through Wills, estate, insurance, stocks, etc. Permanent Fund moneys are never spent – invested, and interest earned each year goes to the Annual Programs Fund. Two levels of giving: Benefactor = US$1,000 in your will. Receive “wings” Bequest Society = minimum of US$10,000 Goal for 2007-08 is 20. Encourage Presidents and Presidents-Elect to Lead the Way SOURCES OF FUND SUPPORT

The Paul Harris Society is a special district recognition program designed for Rotarians who wish to support the Rotary Foundation in a more substantial way each year Recognizes individual donors who make a commitment to contribute a minimum of US$1,000 per year to the Annual Programs Fund, Polio Plus and Polio Plus Partners, or the Humanitarian Grants Program. Every Rotarian in the district will receive an invitation to become a charter member of the 5370 PHS. Donna Ducommun will be our District Administrator The Paul Harris Society

  21. A new, convenient way is now available for you to make regular contributions to TRF – through TRF-Direct. Simply fill in how much you’d like deducted from your chequing or savings account Indicate frequency; monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, annually Mail it in to The Rotary Foundation, and you’re all set! Form is available on the District website under Foundation TRF-DIRECT

  22. Clubs within the District have an accumulated total of…500,000 Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Points! As an initiative for 2007-08, each club is asked to hold a Paul Harris Challenge in their club. Based on our District Paul Harris Challenge, here’s how it works: The Paul Harris Challenge

  23. Based on the US$ exchange rate, clubs match member donations to reach the US$1,000 Paul Harris Fellow threshold. Exchange rate today is $1.04 so that means C$1,040 = US$1,000. By matching a member’s contribution of C$520 with 520 Paul Harris Recognition Points, the member will receive the PHF recognition, or multiples thereof. The Paul Harris Challenge

  32. Rotarian Actions Actions districts and clubs can take • Encourage the formation of Alumni Associations • Invite alumni to serve on Selection committees • Ask Alumni to help with Orientation seminars • Ask Alumni to work on service projects • Ask Alumni to speak at club & district events

  33. Rotarian Actions The key is to keep Alumni involved in Rotary All too often, alumni return home from their service abroad and are ignored by their sponsor Rotarians!
