  4. Rotary Foundation Funds • Annual Programs Fund • Restricted Funds – Polio Plus or Matching Grants • Permanent Fund

  5. How much of contributed APF funds go to programs after administration and promotion costs?

  6. What? How does this work?Let’s look at District 7570.

  7. District 7570 contributed $439,000 in Annual Programs Fund money in 2008-2009 The funds were invested for 3 years: 2008-2009, 2009-2010, and 2010-2011

  8. In this year, 2011-2012, the money was divided into two pools: $219,500 was set aside as DDF: District uses for Matching Grants, CPGs, GSE Team, Scholarships $219,500 was set aside as World Fund: TRF uses for Matching Grants, GSE Teams, Scholarships

  9. It’s the earnings off of the 3-year cycle of investments that pays for the operation of the Rotary Foundation. So 100% of your contribution to the APF goes to programs!

  10. So, how can you become involved with the Rotary Foundation? How can your club become involved with the Rotary Foundation?

  11. First, become a Sustainer. Contribute $100 per year to the Annual Programs Fund.

  12. First, make it easy for your Members to give – One simple idea: Bill Sustainer contributions quarterly with your dues! Clubs– what can you do to help encourage giving?

  13. Next, honor those who do give! Recognize sustainers with Badge stickers List them in your directory and in the database Hold Formal presentations of new Paul Harris Fellows

  14. Club Presidents – what’s your role? • Lead by example – be a sustainer and a Paul Harris Fellow, and wear your pin! • Appoint a club Foundation chair, and make sure you list them on the club Database and with RI. • Make sure your club sends contributions in regularly throughout the Rotary year.

  15. Then, Involve your Club in Foundation Programs! • Seek out International Matching Grant Projects • Apply for a Community Project Grant • Participate in the PolioPlus fundraising effort, and educate your community about Polio Eradication • Sponsor GSE Team Leaders or Members • Nominate an Ambassadorial Scholar

  16. Regional Training in 2012-2013 5 “regional” training events throughout the District held between August and November, 2013 Mid-week evenings, 6:00 – 8:30 PM Attendance at a District Foundation Training event is required for the Gold Club Achievement Award!

  17. Keep Track of Your Club’s Progress Quarterly during the first part of the year, and then monthly during the last quarter, you’ll receive Foundation contribution reports from me. LOOK AT THEM! Contributions should be sent in quarterly to the Foundation – if your club hasn’t sent any, FIND OUT WHY!

  18. Familiarity with The Rotary Foundation. . first will lead to Involvement with the Rotary Foundation . . and then will lead to Generosity in contributing to the Rotary Foundation!

  19. Why do I contribute to TRF?Why should you?

  20. Our reward? Making the world a better place to live, by doing Good in the World!
