  4. Technology Fair • BGSU CMLA will host a technology fair on April 20, 2010, where attendees can learn about technologies including SMART Boards, iPod Touch, and TI Calculators, and how to incorporate them into their teaching. • BGSU CMLA is committed to helping members learn how to utilize technology in their future classrooms, as well as understand the positive impact it can have on student learning. • This project aligns with Standards 3, 5, 7 as it can be incorporated as a tool to assist in student learning and assessment, and shows our commitment to continued education on teaching tools. • Reflection can be provided after the conclusion of the event if needed.

  6. Praxis Mentor Groups • BGSU CMLA has provided members with mentoring as they prepare to take their Praxis examinations. Current students have passed these exams and serve as leaders and guide student preparation. • A need for test taking advice and useful resources was realized by leaders within the organization to help ease test anxiety. • This project aligns with Standards 1, 4, 7 because it helps students further their knowledge of middle level development and concepts, as well as, helps prepare students for future teaching roles. This project also helps students to imagine themselves in the place of a middle school student, preparing for a test. • Mentors and mentees have expressed appreciation for and satisfaction with the quality of information received.
