Student Services = SupportContact us if….. • feeling ill or overwhelmed • lonely or homesick • worried about money • help is needed with visas or international health insurance • thinking about your career, wanting part-time work • needing help editing an essay • having personal problems • special assistance is needed due to a disability

Directing Students to the proper Service….. • Health Service & Dental Clinic • Mental Health • Scholarships & Student Aid • Career & Placement Service • Counselling & Tutorials • International Student Services • Chaplaincy • Office for Students with Disabilities • First Peoples’ House • First Year Office (includes Assistant to Francophone Students) • International Student Services

  7. Directing Students to the proper Service continued….. • We also have: • An Eating Disorder Unit • An Alcohol Policy Workgroup • Mature & Re-entry Student Workshops

  8. Working Together, other student support systems….. • Office of the Dean of Students • Oversees student well-being policies, procedures and communications • The Ombudsperson • A faculty member who helps students resolve problems through informal means

Student Services Fees….. • A mandatory fees is charged to all undergraduate & graduate students which provides them access to Student Services • Postdoctoral and Continuing Education ( 9 credits or more per term) students can have the same privileges if they opt-in. • For further details you can visit • www.mcgill.ca/studentservices/fees/

Conclusion….. • Student Services is an excellent source of information & assistance that will guide students from the beginning right through to the end of their academic careers. • We as a team are always interested to know what issues are in the forefront for both students and support staff across the University. • Communication at all levels is of the utmost importance and we look forward to working with you.
