  1. ABSTRACT ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS by CHANTE’ CODRINGTON Israel is a high profile country no doubt. It may even be complicating and depressing for political scientists and economists to study. This country report will use line graphs, tables, a map and a “Two-Turn Over Test,” to clarify the political and economic situation surrounding Israel. UHD – SRC Dr. John Linantud The Hon. ChanlahCodrington • Israel was formed in 1948 by the League of Nations (UN) • Whereas the official name of Israel is, ‘State of Israel,’ various countries in the Middle East such as Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, etc., do not recognize Israel as a state and so, refers to Israel as, “Palestine, occupied by Israel.” • POVs: • Israeli Jews believe that the boundaries of Israel were allotted to Abraham and his offspring in an eternal covenant made by God (Genesis 13). Therefore, they have a right to occupy Israel. • Palestinians believe that Israeli Jews are originally from Europe and are Jews by conversion.
