The ADF, a Catalan association dedicated to forest care, visited our school to emphasize the vital role forests play in fire prevention and the environment. Students learned about clean versus dirty forests, fire-extinguishing methods used by ADF and firefighters, and the significance of forests for CO2 absorption. The workshop also covered biomass energy, which powers our school's heating and hot water systems. Experts guided us through the biomass facility, highlighting its operations and benefits, allowing children to engage with the materials used in biomass energy production.

Biomass Workshop
A catalan association that takes care of the forests (ADF) came to our school to make a speech with the aim to let us know the importance of taking care of the forest in order to prevent fires.
Children learnt many different topics such as: The differences between a clean and a dirty forest when a fire starts . In the second one the fire expands more quickly. The methods ADF and firefighters use to extinct forest fires. The importance of having forests: we need the CO2 of the trees. The hectares burnt in our area in the last 20 years.
Then, they explained us the importance of using clean energies and why, and, finally, we focused the subject on the biomass energy. Our school central heating and hot water works thanks to a biomass central next to the school. Experts explained us how it works and then we visited the central.
