  5. St r of the Week •  Monday: Family Picture - Bring to Class •  Tuesday: Sharing Sack – Bring to Class • Wednesday: Favorite Book – Bring to Class • Thursday: Parent Letter – Bring to Class or send via e-mail • Friday: Friendship Poster – Done in Class

Bell to Bell Instruction • 5 minutes per day of lost time adds up 15 hours of instruction over the year • Tardy policy (after 7:50) • Inform the office of any and all attendance issues • rthomas@bisd303.org ex 2071 • If your student is going to be missing and extended period of time, I do not create packets of make up work

Curriculum:Walk to Math • My Math (Common Core) • Place Value, Accuracy +/-, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Geometry, Measurement, Organizing Data • Students are grouped by level • Each Unit Span is assessed and evaluated • Each Teacher has a different group that changes with each Unit Span • All 3rd grade teachers work together • Assignments given • See Homeroom Teachers FIRST with questions

Homework • Take home everything and bring back to school everyday! • Designed to practice and extend skills while developing positive habits and study skills. • Homework Folders Check Daily (Due Friday) • Nightly: reading, Jiji Fluency& spelling • Additional: math practice or writing • Check for quality and sign! • Extra Effort Packets • Occasional Projects w/ Presentation

Birthdays and Parties • In room 3, Birthdays are a great celebration • Please let me know in advance • If students are bringing a treat, they MUST bring a healthy treat as well • Please do not distribute party invitations in the classroom unless every child in our classroom is invited to the party • Holiday Parties • Warm Fuzzy Parties
