Language work: Present Perfect & Past Simple • We use the Present Perfect to describe pat actions with present relevance. • We use the Past simple to describe completed actions in the past. • EX: • I’ve scanned in about a third of these photographs. • I’ve organised the paintings into themes. • I’ve added a sound track.

  3. 5- Artist Interview A: Worked on a CD of my paintings. Q: What did you do yesterday? A: About a third. Q: How many have you included? A: I destroyed them. Q: What did you do with the others? A: I scanned them in. Q: How did you record them?

  4. 6- Put the tenses in this dialogue in the correct form: Past Simple or Present perfect • A: What did you do today? • B: I worked on my project. I searched the web for sites on digital cameras. • A: Did you find any good ones? • B: I found several company sites – Sony, Cannon, .. But I wanted one which compared all the models. • A: which search engines did you use? • B: Dogpile mostly. Have you ever used it? • A:Yes, I’ve tried it but I’ve had more luck with Ask Jeevves. Why don’t you try it? • B:I’ve had enough for one night. I’ve spent hours on that project. • A: I haven’t start on mine yet. • B:Yeh?I bet you have done it all.

  5. 8- Speaking • 1- Have you ever sent a video E-mail attachment? Who did you send it to? When did you send it? 2- have you ever fitted an expansion card? Which type did you fit? 3- Have you ever replaced a hard disk? What model did you replace? 4- Have you ever fixed a printer fault? What kind of fault was it? 5- have you ever made your website? How did you design/make it?

  6. 9- Writing • In about 150 – 200 words, describe how you use computers in your study and in your free time.

Find the answers of the questions in the text: • Medical equipment, home appliances, cars, toys. • To collect data at a customer’s site, to generate forms, to control inventory, personal organisers. • a. Results in safer environments. b. improves energy efficiency. c. call forwarding, call monitoring, and call answering. • Smart cards, smart phones, smart cars, smart houses. • Store vital information such as health records, driver’s licenses, bank balances, and so on. • Multimedia greatly enhances the interaction between user and machine and can make the information more interesting and appealing to people.

That HW, SW and connectivity are effectively integrated in a socially responsible way. b. Which HW, SW, and networks endure and how great an impact they will have on our lives. c. That computers are used not only efficiently but in a socially responsible way.
