  1. CDC RPUG Demonstration CRS Plus Enhancement to SameSourceAs Consolidation Directive And Other Consolidation Directive Fixes/Enhancements Kathleen K. Thoburn, Sanjeev Baral CDC/NPCR Contractors Joe Rogers Team Lead, Data Analysis and Support Team, NPCR, CDC National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Software Enhancements Overview for RPUG July 19, 2012 Division of Cancer Prevention and Control

  2. CRS Plus EnhancementRe-run the SameSourceAs Consolidation Directive CRS Plus now has the ability to re-run the SameSourceAs Directive once the base field value has been manually selected Allows the user to select the abstract from which the value for the field that is the basis for the SameSourceAs Directive will taken Once selected, the SameSourceAs directive runs on the fields associated with the base field and values are now automatically selected Use of this new feature is completely optional This new feature will be included in NAACCR v12.2-compliant CRS Plus

  3. Example: Consolidation Directive for Histologic Type ICD-O-3 field: KnownOverUnknown;EliminateIfMeetsCondition([8000, 8010],["HistTypeICDO3">8010]);ManualIfMeetsCondition(["ClassCase"="99"]);AnalyticEliminatesNonanalytic Consolidation Directive for Behavior ICD-O-3 field: SameSourceAs(HistTypeICDO3);KnownOverUnknown HistTypeICDO3 is the base field; if no value can be automatically determined for HistTypeICDO3), then no value can automatically be determined for Behavior ICD-O-3 Using the center pane of the Consolidation Review window, User selects abstract from which to take ICD-O-3 Histologic Type SameSourceAs directive is automatically run for associated fields (e.g., Behavior ICD-O-3 CRS Plus EnhancementRe-run the SameSourceAs Consolidation Directive

  4. HistTypeICDO3 Consolidation Directive Fails No value can be automatically determined for HistTypeICDO3 Directives unable to consolidate

  5. SameSourceAs(HistTypeICDO3) Consolidation Directive Fails for BehaviorICDO3 No value can be automatically determined for BehaviorICDO3 SameSourceAs Directive unable to consolidate

  6. Select Abstract for Basis of SameSourceAs Consolidation Directive To select abstract: User double-clicks Chosen column on the abstract of choice and blue X is filled in AbsRefID of 6 is selected

  7. SameSourceAs Consolidation Directive Automatically Re-runs for BehaviorICDO3 Field Value for BehaviorICDO3 automatically selected

  8. SameSourceAs Consolidation Directive Automatically Re-runs for BehaviorICDO3 Field Value selected is from abstract with AbsRefID of 6

  9. Other Consolidation Directive Fixes/Enhancements Fix made to the KnownoverUnknown directive to recognize dates with the unknown year MostRecent directive has been updated to take a second optional parameter to indicate whether to drop incomplete dates before dates are compared These fixes/enhancements will be included in NAACCR v12.2-compliant CRS Plus

  10. MostRecent Directive Enhancement Original Behavior: MostRecent directive selects the value from the abstract that has the most recent date value from a date field passed as an optional parameter If the optional parameter is not specified it takes the most recent date from the Date of Last Contact field [#1750] Before comparing dates the directive drops any abstracts with incomplete dates so that they are not even considered when finding most recent date To DROP incomplete dates before comparison: 1. MostRecent: This will compare Date of Last Contact field 2. MostRecent(DateField): This will compare date field other than date last contact NEW---To NOT DROP incomplete dates before comparison use the following syntax: MostRecent(DateField, false)
