  3. Importance of Planning • Watch this video clip. • Consider: • What plan did these individuals have for becoming pop stars? • What do you think of their plan? • What could they have done differently to obtain the right career for them?

  5. Personality Type • Knowing your personality type is one way to understand yourself – your strengths, weaknesses, and preferences • All personality types are created equal! • By learning about the different types, we can understand and appreciate differences between people.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator • There are many different types of personality tests • The MBIT is a popular personality test that is often used by businesses and other organizations to: • Help guide hiring and placement decisions • Guide team building • Help employees better understand their own behavior and preferences

  7. Personality Type Survey • Survey will helps make informed decisions about your career • Please complete every answer (Microsoft, 2011c)

  8. Introvert or Extravert • a) answers receive one point • b) answers receive two points • Total your points for #1-5 • If your total is less than seven • You scored in the extrovert range • If your total is less more seven • You scored in the introvert range (Microsoft, 2011c)

  9. Sensor or Intuitive • Total your points for #6-10 • If your total is less than seven • You scored in the sensor range • If your total is less more seven • You scored in the intuitive range (Microsoft, 2011c)

  10. Thinker or Feeler • Total your points for #11-15 • If your total is less than seven • You scored in the thinker range • If your total is less more seven • You scored in the feeler range (Microsoft, 2011c)

Update Your Postsecondary Plan • Complete About Me sections • Personality Type • Example: INFP: Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving • Traits: Idealistic, loyal, curious, empathic, quick • Strengths • Example: I am a loyal friend and empathic which makes me a good listener. I am curious about many things which helps me do well in different classes.
