  6. Your Narratives • We will put these narratives into a class book, similar to Jerry Spinelli’s Knots in My Yo-Yo String. Because of this we will print two copies of your final narratives: 1 to take home at the end of the year and a second to remain in our classroom library for years to come. • All changes that need to be made will be completed today. • Before we begin we have one more thing to do!

  7. Creating a Title • Since your narratives will be combined to make one book, we need to come up with a title for our classroom book. Let’s be creative and brainstorm a list of ideas. We will vote once our list has been created.

  8. Publishing • Since this is your last day to finish publishing your personal narratives, let’s think back and review all that we have learned about writing good personal narratives. • They tell something interesting that happened to the author. • Good narratives include sensory details. • A good personal narrative tells what the author learned or how he/she changed from the experience.

  9. Think Pair Share • What is one way your final personal narrative has turned out better than your first draft? • Think • Turn and talk • What is one thing you like about writing personal narratives? • What did you find challenging about writing personal narratives?

  10. Writing Time • For the next 20-30 minutes you will continue working on your final drafts.

  11. Author’s Chair • Who is ready to share? • What will you do to be a respectful member of the audience today?
