  2. GENERAL CLASSROOM RULES • Follow all school rules as stated in the student handbook. • Follow all CHAMPs policies. • Be prepared! Come to class with all materials every day (this includes notebooks, pencil, paper, colored pencils, textbook, completed homework, etc.) • Be in your assigned seat, ready to work (or already working) on Agendas and Starters before the bell rings. • Be respectful and cooperative! Always respect the rights, opinions, and property of others! b2

  3. CONSEQUENCES MENU • Verbal/Nonverbal warning • Isolation and Behavior Reflection • Building ISS and Responsibility Paper • Conference with Team and Administrator • Team Conference • Phone Call Home • Parent Conference • Office Referral

  4. HOMEWORK • Complete and turn in all homework on time!!!!! • Homework will include projects, studying for quizzes/tests, completing work not finished in class, getting papers signed, etc. • The majority of homework assignments will involve projects and completing work that you do not finish in class.

  5. LATE WORK • Review the Building 12 policy for Late Work. • Turn in all work promptly! • Late work will be turned in to the “late work” box located on the brown table. • When turning in late work, you MUST COMPLETE and ATTACH a late work form(includes basic information and reason the assignment is being turned in late). • You can help yourself and your grade by turning all work on the assigned date! B9.2

  6. MAKE-UP WORK • You are responsible for getting and completing all work missed due to absences. • Make-up work will not be penalized if taken care of promptly (# of days absent + 2). • Most assignments can be accessed online. • Hard copies of maps, worksheets, etc. can be found in the makeup work binder, but you must read the web page first! • Hard copies of assignments can also be printed at home. • There is no excuse for not getting make-up work!!! B2,3,4,& 5.6, 8.2

  7. MAKE-UP WORK (cont.) • Make-up work will be turned in to the “make-up work” box located on the brown table. • You MUST COMPLETE and ATTACH a late work/make-up work form when turning in these assignments. • If you do not make-up missed work, the resulting grade will be zero.

  9. STARTER ACTIVITIES • Starter activities will completed every day and will be done at the beginning of class. • You must copy the starter activity questions from the board and look up the answers in the textbook. • You must make-up starter activities missed when absent! • You will do starters on the same piece of paper all week and turn in one page on Fridays. This assignment counts for a grade every week! • Starters will be checked each day. By the end of the week, you should have an easy 100!

  10. CALCULATING GRADES • Major tests will count as two grades and will be reflected in the online grade portal two times. • Major projects will be counted two or more times or graded in multiple parts. • Quizzes, starter activities, and other daily work will count as one grade each. • Students will keep a grade sheet in class so that you will always be able to average your own grades. • Graded work will sent home at the end of each grading period.

  11. “On the Dot” Grade • An “on the dot” grade will be issued each grading period. • Students turning in all work on time will receive a 100 for this grade. • For each assignment turned in late, students will have 8 points deducted from the “on the dot” grade. • This grade is reflected in the grade portal.

  12. Supplies and Textbooks • You need all supplies listed on the general school supply list. • Keep all social studies work in your 2” binder or a separate folder just for this class. • Bring your binder, paper, pencils with erasers, and colored pencils daily! • Textbooks will not issued, but can checkedout at any time.

  13. A FEW EXTRA ITEMS • Passes: You must have your student handbook before asking to leave the room. Do not ask for passes to get a drink of water, to the library, to see other teachers, or other unnecessary reasons. You will be limited to three restroom passes per grading period—so think before you ask!

  14. Check Assignments Online • You can access most assignments online from the school web site: http://lakeforest-ms.bradleyschools.org/ • This information is typically updated weekly(often it is updated daily). • (You can also get to the school web site through the Bradley County Schools site available at: www.bradleyschools.org)

  15. DO YOUR BEST!!!! You are capable of doing anything you decide to do! You have the knowledge, ability, power, and potential to have a successful year!!

  16. Contact Information • If parents/guardians have any questions, they may contact us by written note, phone, or email. • When sending emails, parents/guardians should include the student’s name in the subject line.
